I like my outfit but not a big fan of Santa.....

It's "Christmas Barbie" and isn't she just the cutest! We tried to get there early and have her meet Santa ahead of time but that didn't really work. She did not care for Santa, maybe she changes her mind next year;)

Crazy Marathon Runner.....................

John Barbie ran the Chicago Marathon in 90 degree weather with high humidity and the best part is he didn't die:) Seriously though over 300 people went to the Emergency Room and eventually the race was cancelled. We were so happy when he was finished! He didn't run his best marathon time ever but he was so proud of himself for finishing and so were we!

I saw this a while back and found it fun!

1. was 14 years old and in my first year of high school.
2. was trying to meet a boy and fall in love.
3. was hanging out with all my girlfriends that I had since I was 7.

10 years ago I..............................
1. was 24 years old and just starting my "fun new job" as a Flight Attendant!
2. was still trying to meet a boy and fall in love.
3. was living in Detroit part time for work and Saint Paul part time with Molly.

5 years ago I...............................
1. was still flying and still living with Molly now in Como Park.
2. was about to meet the love of my life.
3. was still hanging out with all my girlfriends that I had since I was 7.

3 years ago I...............................
1. was engaged to be married to John Barbie (a.k.a. "honey").
2. was getting ready to "tie the knot" next month.
3. was thinking about getting pregnant and starting a family.

1 year ago I.................................
1. was 2 months pregnant with my baby girl Sophia and so excited.
2. was just starting a new job at Children's Hospital.
3. was planning a "baby moon" to Mexico with my husband before our baby got here.

So far this year I........................
1. gave birth to a beautiful, healthy baby girl named Sophia on May 26th.
2. spent the summer at home with my family before going back to work.
3. really appreciated the love and support I have had from my family and friends!

I hope all of you are doing well and we look forward to what the future brings:)

I am not exactly sure why, because we have all these fun toys for her, but she prefers to be with mommy or daddy. All though she will swing in her swing while we eat, usually;)

We decided to give cereal a try and Sophie REALLY liked it! She couldn't quite get the hang of swallowing it, she kept pushing it out with her tongue, but she seemed very interested in the concept:)

Date night.............

John and I had a date, just the two of us for the first time since we had Sophie. By the way that was on May 26th. We went to see Crowded House (Pete Yorn, who is yummy, opened up for them). I didn't really have a solid babysitter until a week ago. My friend Heather was going to babysit but we didn't think we would be home until close to midnight and she has a real job and has to be to work early. So, my Grandma offered to babysit. Not that she isn't awesome with children and totally loves Sophia.........it's just that she's 86. But, I didn't want to offend her and she said she had help (her 92 year old sister). So I thought I will just have Heather stop by and make sure things are going okay. We had a great time and Heather stayed at my Grandma's until 11:00 p.m. We got there around 11:30 p.m. and everything seemed to be just fine. Sophie was asleep in her stroller (???? they really like that stroller) and she woke up when she heard my voice and smiled really big. Great Grandma did a GREAT job and I wasn't ever worried a bit;)

Sophia is teething, she is 3 months old and she is definately teething. She drools and and drools and tries to get both fists in her mouth. She gets super mad when they don't both fit and sometimes she cries:( I wonder at times why they don't come with an instruction manual and then I realize it wouldn't really help that much anyway;)

In the effort of keeping up with the demands from our "fans" (Hi Mom), I have now been asked to write a little bit about what Sophia is up to these days. Sophia is 3 1/2 months old she's not really UP to much to be honest. Sophie likes to be talked to and played with, she enjoys watching MTV 3, her favorite pass times include eating and sleeping and of course pooping her pants. If you are ever in the Saint Paul area please feel free to stop by and visit or babysit, whatever you're in the mood for. Just make sure you bring her mommy a treat, I like most everything;)

Going backwards.....

I know this is kind of going backwards but this is Sophie at about 2 weeks old and look at how much she has changed! She looked kind of angry a lot of the time too and it turned out she was allergic to her formula and then to soy formula and now she is on the "liquid gold" Nutramigen. She is SO happy now! YEAH!

Still can't figure out that picture thing:) Well, for the record.........I think Sophia did really well yesterday until the end of the day when her Daddy then left her. I know what you're thinking and I agree Daddy's aren't always the smart ones in the family;) Just kidding (sort of). John had to go to a district council meeting and he left Sophie with our very wonderful neighbor John Hall who cared for her like she was his own and everything was fine actually:) I had more of a breakdown than she did:)

Hello All, (And by "ALL", I mean the 2 people that will actually read this;)
This is my first post and as soon as I figure this out I will put pictures on this thing:) We are the proud parents of Sophia Mae Barbie who was born on Saturday May 26th at 11:11 a.m. She weighed 7 pounds 5 ounces and was 20 inches long.........she is the reason I am starting this blog in the first place:) Today is mommy's first day back to work and so far so good! Wish me luck!
